Everybody's Favorite Show

Very similar white circles are arranged in groups of one to four, each group beneath an identical pale blue 16:9 rectangle. A single, distinct yellow circle appears alone, with no rectangle. The circles are cut from a layer of black poster board, exposing other-colored layers of cut poster board beneath.

This series used the arrangement of simple shapes, hand cut from floating layers of colored poster board, to distill powerful emotions to their essence. Small circles, each representing a single person, appeared throughout the collection. Most circles seem alike at first glance, demonstrating the superficial homogenization of humanity in our current consumption-driven culture. Distinct color immediately exposes a dissenter, but close inspection reveals that every circle is uniquely flawed, different from the others due to imperfections in its circumference.

All of the pieces in this series were destroyed approximately two years after they were created; these images are all that remain.
